Flying solo.

I am so happy :-)! My passport finally got delivered via courier from the US Embassy. Thank God, the lovely consul renewed my multiple 10 year US VISA. Kudos to 2G0! I am impressed with your services, so efficient and quick!

Lovely pink packaging from the courier.
As I was going through my passport, I saw the huge difference with my appearance through my VISA pictures. Look and see for yourselves :-( huhuhu.

Before: My Schengen VISA last year. I was so so thin!
After: My US VISA this year. I look so bloated

PS. You cannot smile nor frown when it comes to VISAs. Thus, my face! HAHAHA. Perfect opportunity to smize without anyone hatin'!

Okay, now let us rewind!

I was interviewed for the renewal of my VISA last Tuesday, April 19, 2011. The last time I got interviewed was when I was 8 years old with my family. I could not remember a thing about it so I got really nervous about my interview. Oh and I had to go to my interview ALONE. My parents had to go an urgent business matter out of town. I'm 18 anyways so I am legitimately permitted to do VISA interviews alone.

I remember going to the US Embassy at around 7 in the morning in time for my 8:15 appointment. The moment I stepped out of my car, I saw hundreds among hundreds of applicants. You would mistake the waiting area of the Embassy as a relief-operation center or something. It was insane! I had to wait for a couple of hours before I had my interview with the American consul. He was a typical looking American who was in his mid 40s or something. I was nervous that I might get denied of a renewal of my VISA because most of my seatmates in the waiting area got rejected. Thankfully, the consul adored me and renewed my multiple 10 US VISA. He even conversed with me in German. Why not! HAHA.

I am already leaving on Friday (then again) alone. Oh yes, I am traveling alone! I have no problems traveling alone since I have done it a couple of times already. However this time is really different. I don't need the DSWD clearance anymore since I am 18 years old already. The perks of being 18! I'll be staying in CA for more than a month. 3 days to go and I'm really excited.

Shoutout to my friend, Anton Abear for reminding me about identity theft!

That's it for now xo!

Deutsch als Fremdsprache.

I have been learning the German language for almost a year now. I started during Junior year when Goethe-Institut Philippinen offered classes at the Ateneo de Manila High School. I remember getting the letter of invitation to be part of the classes and thinking to myself, why should I bother in the first place? The only German I knew that time was Heidi Klum's line to all eliminated contestants in Project Runway, Auf Wiedersehen. I took a risk and enrolled myself.

Everything started as a joke and never did I imagine myself falling in love with the language. Eventually, I became interested and passionate in learning the German language. I was even fortunate enough to be part of the very first group of Filipinos to be sent to Germany for a language course by Goethe-Institut Philippinen. I stayed in Sankt Peter Ording, Schleswig-Holstein for 3 weeks touring the northern part of Germany and extensively studying the language as well. It was fulfilling to be able to converse with locals in German comfortably and quite fluently. I surely won't forget Summer 2010 because of my Jugendkurs in Germany.

Philippines x Thailand @ Deutschland
Until now, I am still learning the language. Things are a bit different now with the way I am learning since my classes in German have ended weeks ago. I am independently learning it through my textbooks in class and conversing daily in German with my friends in Deutschland. I am reviewing and studying everything again during the summer to brush up on my German.

My handy-dandy kit in learning German.
There are also websites I access which help me tremendously. http://dict.leo.org/ is a very reliable and efficient online Deutsch-Englisch dictionary. http://conjd.cactus2000.de/ is a website which helps you conjugate your verbs in German in all possible tenses. If you are learning the language as well, these websites will definitely help you.

Deutsch  x Englisch Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
One of my pending plans this summer is to finish reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks in German. I absolutely fell in love with his novel when I read it in English and decided to buy the German version of it. My professor when I was in Germany advised me to read novels in German to help me learn more and be comfortable with the language. I hope I would have the time and patience to read it!

My passion with the language also helped me choose my course in college and my future career path. I would be taking up AB European Studies International Relations and would be minoring in the German language at the Ateneo de Manila University. I cannot wait to learn some more German in college. Now that it is summer , I will do the learning and studying on my own. Bring it on!

If you want to learn the German language, just go to the website of Goethe-Institut Philippinen @ http://www.goethe.de/ins/ph/map/enindex.htm?wt_sc=manila. All of the necessary info is there.

@ Hamburg Rathaus 2010
I do hope and pray that someday I will be back in Germany. Hopefully, sophomore or junior year in college. I must be part of the group who do summer tours in Germany or be an exchange student!

That's all for now xo!

Luan Legacy.

I was never a fan of amateur videos in Youtube until I saw a video from luanlegacy. The very first video I saw from him was his hate video for Rebecca Black. Ever since that day, I have been following his videos in his channel in Youtube. He is hysterically funny and makes everyday life really humorous.

Raid your closets.

I have a lot of clothes in my closet, some of which I haven't even worn and seen before. Thus, the closet raid I just did. I thought of doing one because: a.) I don't have closet space anymore, b.) I need to know which pieces I should get as I buy my clothes for college in the US and c.) I'm OC like that.

I was pleasantly shocked to see a lot of pieces that I actually never have seen before. Most of them are gifts from my dad. I never took the time to check those pieces from my Dad because our taste when it comes to clothes never jell which is not the case anymore...

I saw two tops which my Dad gave me a couple of weeks back which I am obsessed about. Thank God, I did a closet raid and saw these psychedelic and loud printed tops.

Vintage Valentino Top
Such a bold print which I adore.

Aside from the vintage Valentino top, I saw an Otto Vintage piece as well. Another gift from my Dad! I absolutely love the very bold and loud print of this top and its overall design.

It  actually has a band at the bottom.

Graphic print.

Doing random closet raids is quite fun and therapeutic. Go try it for yourself! I am quite sure you will find good finds as well.

That's all for now xo!

Hiatus.

Oh yes that's right, I am blogging again.

From a very long and [unwanted] hiatus, I decided to put up a new blog! I just felt like making one [as in out of nowhere] and ta da, here it is. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing these posts xo!

I have always expressed how much I adore and love Divine Lee. I religiously read her blog everyday. I absolutely admire Divine because she is a good mix of everything. She is bubbly, humble and most especially humorous. Out of pure boredom, I decided to make my tweets public and tweet her randomly. I was very much surprised that she actually tweeted back. We actually conversed in a way through our tweets !

My "conversation" with the Divine Lee in Twitter.

Finally, I have managed to finish reading a book this summer. While I was in the province during the holy week, I had the time to read. This particular book is a collection of true to life murder cases in the US. Some of the cases were very much disturbing and too morbid which ended up being quite interesting and entertaining. Although, I think it's not a good idea to read such chronicles if you are planning to go to the States anytime soon ( which I will....). Definitely, a good read! I totally recommend this book for readers who love murder cases and the actual process of investigations.

That's all for now xo !
